Eligible patients may be able to access Medicare rebates for podiatry services through a Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan, formerly known as an Enhanced Primary Care (EPC) Plan.
If you have a chronic medical condition that has been present, or is expected to be present, for six months or longer, your GP may refer you for allied health services under a Medicare Care Plan.
Conditions that may qualify include:
- Diabetes
- Arthritis
- Osteoporosis
- Neurological conditions
- Chronic pain conditions
- Cardiovascular disease
- Other long-term health conditions requiring multidisciplinary care
With a valid GP referral, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate on a limited number of podiatry appointments each calendar year.
